The Cheapest Laptops

Today, I have been going through Laptop Magazine looking for the cheapest laptops on the market.

I have an old clunker right and I need to update it.

Also, my current laptop does not have HDMI and that blows because I am interested in Connecting My TV to My PC like many of my compatriots have done.

It looks like I can get a laptop with HDMI for under $500 bucks right now which is awesome.

I primarily want it for video--to watch movies--so I should not have to go all out and spend over $1000 for those other models.

These sub-$500 models also look like they great machines and I really have not quite firgured out what paying an extra $500 gets me.

So, until then, I will be going for one of the cheapest laptops on the market which appears to have everything that I need!

The ASUS Laptop Is The Best Laptop

As I wrote about last month, I bought a new ASUS laptop for the Holiday Season. I did so because these things are small, have a great battery life, and--at the time at least--was regarded as one of the best selling laptops on the market. And, after reading Using Your LCD as a Large Computer Monitor, I took my ASUS and connected to my big screen TV and now it looks great.

Thus, right now, I am wondering if my laptop is still among the best. Technology moves so fast and sometimes your latest gadget may be only the latest and greatest for a brief amount of time.

I always like to know where I stand with my gadgets. So, let's have a look...

Currently, Toshiba holds the #1 spot with it's L505. I have no idea why they would even have a chance here as their notebook only has about 2 hours of battery life. They are followed by HP, which is also more expensive with very little battery life. Then, the MACs come in at #'s 3 and 4 with the MacBook, and of course, since they're Macs...they're more expensive.

At #6, we find my ASUS...I have the 6th best laptop on the market today.

However, people haven't a clue. Compare the price and the specs and the ASUS blows them away. People are you listening...the ASUS UL30A-X5 Thin and Light 13.3-Inch Black Laptop - 12 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Home Premium) is easily the best laptop at the best price.

It may say that this laptop is #6. But let me tell you, I own one....and it still absolutely rules the lot!!!

Lady Antebellum on Top of the Charts

It is good to see Lady Antebellum on the list of top country hits that are out today.

I have been following Lady Adtebellum for a while now and there success is certainly not an overnight sensation. It is due to vast amount of work combined with some of the sweet vocals that you will ever here.

I remember when George Strait first converted me to country music. His pure tone, simple lyrics, and country clarity converted me on the spot. I always try to listen to a little George Strait from time to time.

And now, I have added LADY ANTEBELLUM to the mix. They are truly a great country band. As my buddy just recently celebrated Country Music Friday, I am now bringing a LA update for you on Thursday.

It is a truly great band that you need to hear...even if you are not a big country music fan!

Hank on the Golf Course

With the hubbub of late about Tiger Woods, it has got me thinking about golf again. Tiger's downfall is my rebirth :)

Sunday's are great days for me to go out and hit some balls. The little ones and the wifey are away and I get to practice some golf in piece. Practicing golf is something that, frankly Hankly, most people do wrong. The tendency to hit all of your balls as fast as you can is tremendous but it is not the right way to play.

As I was being very deliberate on the range, the local pro gave me some golf driving tips as he noted that I was not exactly hitting my drives down the middle. His tips worked beautifully. Basically, he said I was swinging too hard and too laterally which made for not so clean contact and a golf swing path that was not right. When I implemented his fixes, my golf driving was somewhat fixed.

When I think about my golf senses, I need to remember always that golf is a game that is 90% between the ears. You have to constantly think and strategize AND also hit the shot when necessary.

Now, I have many of the shots...I just need to start thinking about my golf game more because, unlike Tiger Woods, my home life is still--knock on "woods"--relatively peaceful!

Connect My LCD To My PC

For the Christmas season, I am going to upgrade both my laptop and my TV. I have already chose both.

I am going to go with an ASUS netbook, those tiny little wonders with the battery that lasts forever. Many people will tell you that a Netbook is not powerful enough for your needs but I know a bit about these things.

After reviewing the specs on the ASUS netbook, I concluded that it easily suits all of my needs which are surfing the net, doing email, and using all of the Microsoft Office applications.

You do not need a load of resources to do those things.

The final thing that sold me was testing the laptop to see if I could watch movies. This thing is great for watching movies on a plane. It is designed with a processor that maximizes video without sucking all of the battery.

However, when I am stationary I want to connect TV to PC because the only drawback to a Netbook is the small screen when you are working in one spot.

I have been doing some research on how to do this. I'm getting Technical With HDMI and learning all that there is to know about connecting my netbook to my Sony Vaio.

In the end, I think it's actually pretty easy. Though HDMI would be preferable, this little Netbook does not have HDMI so I will just hook them up via the VGA port and I'll be good to go.

This will be "trei-cool".

As you know, this summer I began investigating ways to make money online. As my job was in jeopardy and I was looking for ways that would lead to some sort of independence, I began this online search.

I have learned that there are some ways to make money online but the most of the discoveries that I made led to things that you had to pay for. My revelation was that many people were making money teaching others how to make money online but far fewer were actually making money online.

Initially, I was searching for ways to Make Money Online Fast because I wanted a some money fast. But, after more researched and some failed attempts, I have learned that making money online is a process that takes time. Like building any good business, success does not happen over night.

There are of course some ways where you can take advantage of hot trends. For example in Marta’s Online Ideas, she mentions a method that can be used to take advantage of Twitter, which is really hot right now. Each of these though is like chasing the quick buck and provides no long term guarantee.

I will begin writing about things that I like and, hopefully, over a 5 year period create a sustained income.

A Burger-Less Turkey Burger

I am a meat eater at heart and when I think of a burger, there is a HAM in front of it.

In other words, a Hamburger...especially on Sunday.

So, yesterday, I am watching the football games and my wife tells me that we are having burgers. Perfect. Burgers, beers, and football. Could one ask for a more perfect day?

So, I am watching an absolute surprise in which the KC Chiefs are beating the Steelers--totally out of nowhere--when my wife comes with my "burger" and beer.

I took a bite without looking into something that was not a HAMburger but was something else. It was on a bun with the usually compliments but it was no hamburger.

"Honey, what is this?" I shouted as the Steelers were feeling similar pains.

"Oh, babe" she said, "I just learned How To Make Turkey Burgers so we can eat healthier!"

I was pissed because I wanted a HAM-burger. Anyway, I gave it a chance and it wasn't bad. I'll eat more turkey burgers in the future for my health.

But on Sunday, with football and beer, I STILL WANT MY HAMBURGER in the future. I tried to let the little lady know this kindly.

Yesterday, I wrote about how I was low on money. But I just went to Circuit City and got a look at the Top LCD TVs. I think I might have to get one on credit :)

The Big Screen And Tiger

So, last weekend I purchased the Big Screen TV that I was talking bout.

And, most of you know that I wanted it to watch golf for one things. Of course, the NFL is another. But, this weekend was about golf on the golf channel and the main networks.

And something Amazing happened. Tiger Lost.

What? Yes, Tiger Woods lost.

Maybe he's beatable. I need to hit the driving range and figure how to swing a golf club because my swing absolutely sucks.

But I am athlete so I know that I can get better.
